It’s true that nobody can give what he doesn’t have. Seeing a figure doing credibly well on daily basis confirms that God created human being in His own nature. Hence whatever good or bad a person does is done for posterity.
As decayed as our politicking in Nigeria seemed to be, some figures have committed their souls in serving the masses especially constituents they’re representing at different levels of government.
While those set of people often see criticism as a challenge that will help them to be more effective in discharging their duties, they make sure that they struggle days and nights to record legacies capable of standing the test of time.
Prominent among the legacies that a person can struggle to achieve in life is empowering and building his people for self economic reliance. With this, they can all see to the growth and development of their societies. This of course is in tandem with an assertion in Yoruba language that, “Ilu nla kosi, Omo nla lowa”. This connotes that a town with successful figures as indigenes and residents no doubt will develop.
We shouldn’t forget that whatever goes around will surely come around. Hence, as we’re committed to uplift others, we’re undoubtedly uplifted by God. It’s on this premise that we see the favoured continue to enjoy favour especially if they’ve used their timely opportunities so serve their people.
Politicians in Oke Ogun and Oyo State at large should begin to objectively analyse the personality of their colleague who had been given the acronym OMOLUABI.
He’s not only the Koseleri of Oyo North by virtue of his representation for two consecutive terms, he has demonstrated a purposeful representation as he has been using his good office as a lawmaker to uplift his constituents both old and young.
The contacts and connections he had built among leaders in this country via the mandate and supports genuinely given to him by people of Oyo North have started yielding appreciative results, to the glory of God.
Aside getting jobs for youths both skilled and unskilled, the vibrant legislator has helped in worthy political appointments for his constituents. His impacts in the appointment of former Minister of Communications, Barrister AbdulRaheem Adebayo Shittu remain unforgettable.
He had started another appreciative moves towards the confirmation of appointments of two of his constituents, Mr Debo Adeshina from Itesiwaju Local Government and Mr Adeshina Alege from Iseyin local government both in the ambassadorial lists submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari recently.
I have no doubt that the two nominees from Oke Ogun will scale through the rigorous screening and confirmed Ambassadors soonest. I join other good people of Oke Ogun to express our unreserved appreciation to our Distinguished Senator Buhari Abdulfatai for all these unbiased gestures while I pray that he shall succeed in other tasks ahead.
Though he is not a politician but a worthy patriot and philanthropist of global recognition, Alhaji Ahmed Raji, SAN, is also second to none when it comes to developmental moves of not only Oke Ogun but Oyo State in general.
We’re all indebted to him not only for abandoning all his engagements yesterday to unlock all the difficult areas in order to ensure that the nominees are confirmed but also his commitment towards developing younger ones in this part of the world.
It shall be recalled also that over 60 schools in Oyo North Senatorial District have enjoyed Senator Buhari’s gestures as he facilitated Information and Communication Technology Centers and Electronic Learning Facilities to raise their standard and compete favourably well with their counterpart in other parts of the world.
The lawmaker has also made empowerment of constituents through seminars, symposium, workshops and skills acquisition training a monthly activities where take off packages were given to selected beneficiaries.
These of course have not disallowed him from discharging his primary functions of making laws. He had many alluring bills and motions aimed at making lives better for his constituents and Nigerians in general to his credit.
Distinguished Senator Buhari Abdulfatai has really created a niche for himself not only in the Senate but in the political system of our dear nation and so a pride of Oyo North and by extension Oyo State.
